New Fund Supports Russell Community Theater

The Russell Community Theater (RCT) has established a permanent endowment with the Russell County Area Community Foundation as the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary season.

Founded in 1986, RCT has brought live theater to rural Kansas for four decades, delighting audiences with productions ranging from Dracula and The Mousetrap to On Golden Pond. Entirely volunteer-run, the theater relies on dedicated community members who serve as cast, crew, directors, set builders, costume designers, and supporters to bring each production to life.

The endowment fund will provide a permanent source of income to help sustain future productions and ensure that live community theater continues to thrive in Russell County for generations to come. It will also help RCT maintain and improve the playhouse.

“For 40 years, Russell Community Theater has been powered by volunteers and community support,” said Angie Muller, RCACF Director. “This endowment helps secure the future of community theater in rural Kansas and ensures future generations will continue to experience the joy of live performance.”

Gifts to the Russell Community Theater Fund are tax-deductible and can be made at any time by mailing a check to RCACF, PO Box 172, Russell, KS 67665, or by making a credit card donation at rcacf.org. Gifts of stock, grain, livestock, and IRA distributions are accepted. Donors may also choose to include RCT in their estate plans, creating a lasting investment in the arts.
