Russell County Food Pantry Fund Created in Memory of Marty Myers
The Russell County Food Pantry Fund was established in loving memory of Marty Myers, whose life was defined by service to his community. Marty was best known for his dedication to Myers Furniture, a cornerstone of “Beautiful Downtown Russell” for more than 74 years.
Under his leadership, the store became much more than a business, it was a gathering place where lasting friendships were formed, customers were treated like family, and many local high school students received their first job opportunities. Marty took great pride in serving Russell and the surrounding communities and believed that no one should go hungry.
The Russell County Food Pantry Fund provides a permanent source of support for the food pantry, helping ensure a reliable supply of food for individuals and families in need throughout the year, including during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
Anyone can contribute to the Russell County Food Pantry Fund. Every gift helps grow the endowment, increasing its ability to address food insecurity for generations to come. Contributions are tax-deductible and may be made at any time by mailing a check to RCACF, P.O. Box 172, Russell, KS 67665, or by making a secure online donation at rcacf.org.
In addition to cash gifts, donations of stock, grain, livestock, and IRA distributions are accepted. Donors may also choose to include the Russell County Food Pantry Fund in their estate plans, creating a lasting legacy that helps alleviate hunger in Russell County.
