The Russell County Area Community Foundation (RCACF) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kac’Rae McAlonan as its new Deputy Director and Rural Prosperity Coordinator, beginning in August 2026.
Kac’Rae brings a diverse background in business, hospitality, and financial services to the Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Wichita State University and most recently served as a Financial Services Representative with New York Life.
She currently serves as the Rural Champion for Russell’s downtown revitalization initiatives, a position funded through a grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce. In that role, she has worked with local stakeholders to advance projects and initiatives that strengthen downtown Russell and enhance community vitality.
Kac’Rae is also a leader with the Russell County Leadership program, an intensive leadership development initiative designed to cultivate emerging business and community leaders throughout the Russell County area.
Prior to her career in financial services, Kac’Rae gained extensive experience in the hospitality industry with Hyatt Hotels, serving guests and leading teams in San Antonio, Hawaii, and other locations. Her career has been built around customer service, relationship development, and helping people succeed, qualities that will serve her well in her new role.
As Deputy Director and Rural Prosperity Coordinator, Kac’Rae will focus on helping communities throughout Russell County thrive by working alongside nonprofit organizations, city governments, and county officials to identify grant opportunities and secure funding for projects that enhance quality of life across the county. Her work will emphasize collaboration, strategic partnerships, and bringing new resources into Russell County.
In addition to grant development, Kac’Rae will lead the creation of a youth philanthropy program that will engage young people in charitable giving and community service. The initiative will encourage youth to become active leaders, learn the value of philanthropy, and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of their hometowns.

Kac’Rae’s position reflects the Foundation’s commitment to investing in people, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities that make Russell County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. Through collaboration, grant development, and youth engagement, her work will help build a stronger future for communities across the county.
